Visarviya Borun-Goncharova, de 8 anos, nasceu com uma condição rara conhecida como síndrome toracoabdominal, que é tão rara que só ocorre em um recém-nascido entre 8 milhões. Basicamente, pessoas que nasceram com essa condição têm o coração fora do peito.

Desde que o acidente aconteceu, o estado de Visarviya deteriorou-se a tal ponto que eles tiveram que se mudar da Rússia para os Estados Unidos. Seu objetivo era que sua filha fizesse uma cirurgia, mas os médicos se recusaram a intervir, já que sua pressão arterial estava elevada. Apesar das adversidades, a mãe está confiante de que, eventualmente, a saúde da filha melhore com os remédios, para que sua pressão arterial possa ser controlada e ela possa receber cirurgia.

A família também tem uma página para arrecadar fundos, para conseguir lidar com todas as despesas hospitalares.
Além de ter uma condição muito delicada, já que seu coração está exposto no peito e é apenas protegido por uma fina camada de pele, Visarviya também foi gradualmente perdendo parte de seu peito, músculos abdominais e alguns ossos.

No entanto, as crianças não perdem sua vitalidade e alegria. Visarviya é uma menina muito carismática que fascina a todos ao seu redor, ama passar um tempo com seus amigos, gosta de pôneis e de dançar, é fã da cantora Beyoncé e adora desenhar. Em uma de suas entrevistas, ela disse:
“Sempre visto roupas leves, para não machucar o meu coração. Caminho muito por ai, salto e corro. Eu não deveria correr, mas eu amo fazer isso”.
